We’re super excited to have been invited to play at the opening night of the first ever Brisbane Lindy Exchange 2012 - ’3 days and nights of dance paradise’.

When: Friday 18th May 2012
Time: 7:30 – midnight
Venue: Holy Trinity Church Hall, 9 Church St Fortitude Valley
Dress code: vintage beach party / nautical (Think beach parties, sailors and mermaids)
Cost: $25 or free with social pass

For the fourth year in a row, The Gangsters’ Ball is coming back to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in September where modern day Mobsters, Molls and Flappers can step back in time to a bygone era when men wore three-piece suits, fedora hats and silk ties, women wore feathers, furs and pill box hats, big bands ruled the airwaves and gangsters ruled the streets.

And the Calibre Cats are super excited to be swinging up a storm on Saturday 10th September when we take to the stage at the Tivoli for the Brisbane Gangsters’ Ball.

A fully themed night of non-stop entertainment, The Gangsters’ Ball brings to life the fashion, style, humour and classic entertainment of the 1930s & ’40s. Featuring the biggest names in Cabaret, Sideshow Vaudeville, Magic/Illusion and Big Band Swing, it is an event like no other and one not to be missed!

Every show also features Australia’s best Swing, Rockabilly and Rock & Roll DJs, The Gambling Den – with Poker, Roulette and Black Jack tables, Swing and Rockabilly dancing contests, Pin-up models, merchandise stalls, cocktail bar, 1920s themed photo booth and fantastic prizes for the best dancers and a lucky door prize!

Dress code is strictly 1920s to ’50s Gangsters, Flappers, Molls, Burlesque, Vintage Glamour, traditional Dance Hall Swing and Rockabilly.

We’ve got a stack of great shows coming up, kicking off with Cloudland this Thursday night!

Swing along to the Calibre Cats’ upcoming show at Cloudland, Brisbane’s premier lounge bar. Suit up, get down, and enjoy some smokin’ hot swing from Bridget ‘Dollface’ Burnell and her funky Cats. Free entry, smart dress applies. Big floor for dancing! Delicious drinks and food!
